How many tiles are in a Chinese set?
Most of our sets have 144 tiles: three suits, winds, dragons, flowers and seasons, and no jokers. Camphor and Clove add 2 blank spares, for 146.
What tile size?
Many of our Chinese sets are travel sets with small tiles: 20 mm for Bone, 22 mm for Quartz and Clove, 24 mm for Coral. Check the size on each product page.
Will the tiles fit my racks?
Not American racks, as a rule: Bone's 20 mm tiles are far smaller than the 1.4 inch tiles most American racks are built for. Fennel comes with its own racks.
Can I play American mahjong with them?
No. Without jokers, a Chinese set cannot follow the American card. See our American mahjong collection.
