    Accessibility Statement

    Our commitment

    The Mahjong Section is used by players of every age, and a good number of them tell us they struggle to read small tiles or small type. Accessibility is not an abstraction for this shop, it is the same problem our customers describe at the table.

    We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

    Current status: partial conformance

    We are honest about where we stand. This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA: parts of the site do not yet fully meet the standard.

    Known limitations

    • Product images. Every image on a product we currently sell carries alternative text describing the product, its colour, material, variant and tile count. That text identifies the product rather than the specific framing of each photograph, so a close-up and a full view of the same set are described alike. Improving this photograph by photograph is on our list.
    • Colour contrast. Some secondary text and decorative elements fall below the 4.5:1 ratio and are being corrected.
    • Third-party content. Embedded checkout and payment components are supplied by Shopify and are outside our direct control.
    • Older blog posts. Heading structure in some earlier articles is inconsistent.

    What we do not use

    We do not use an accessibility overlay, widget, or toolbar. These tools frequently interfere with the screen readers and browser settings people already rely on, and they do not fix the underlying markup. We would rather correct the site itself, even though it is slower.
