Where an ordinary set fails

Mahjong is played wherever people gather, and a good proportion of those places involve water: a garden in summer, a poolside, a boat, a beach house. Ordinary sets do badly in all of them.

Melamine tolerates a splash and a wooden box does not. Printed faces lift when they stay wet. Racks warp. What actually gets damaged is rarely the tile itself but everything it travels with.

The tiles are resin through their thickness with no coating to lift and no paper or wood involved. Water sits on them and wipes off. They can be rinsed, which is genuinely useful after an afternoon outdoors with sun cream on everybody's hands.
