Of all 144 tiles, the green dragon is the one that works as a graphic. It is bold, it is symmetrical, and it is recognisable to a player from across a room while reading as an abstract design to anyone who does not play.
That is the right register for a bag that has to work at a game and at a supermarket.
Cotton totes feel better and behave worse. They absorb, they take a stain permanently, and a wet cotton bag stays wet against whatever is inside it.
Polyester washes, dries in an hour and does not hold moisture. For a bag that is going to the beach as well as to a game, that is the practical choice.
Roomy enough for a compact tile set, a folded mat and the usual extras. It is a soft bag, so it protects against loss rather than impact: anything that lands on it lands on the contents.
For a full sized set travelling in a car boot, a structured case is the better answer.
Machine washable at a low temperature, and it will dry quickly. Turn it inside out to protect the print, which is the part that wears first.

Roomy rather than fitted, if the bag is also carrying the mat and whatever else the evening needs. A tote works differently from a case: it takes an awkward load without complaint but gives no protection, so the tiles want to be in their own box inside it. At 0.3 kg empty, this adds nothing to the weight, which is the main thing a tote should not do.
Almost all of it is made by makers who serve one game, in runs measured in hundreds. There is no crossover market to absorb the tooling, no volume to negotiate with, and the objects themselves are specific enough that they cannot be sold to anyone else. Printed textiles are the exception, which is why a tote sits at the affordable end of a shelf full of expensive equipment.
