The full American count, in travel size
Bluebell holds 166 tiles: 36 dots, 36 bams, 36 craks, 12 dragons, 16 winds, 16 flowers, 10 jokers and 4 blanks. Each tile stands 1.20 in (30 mm) tall, a travel size that suits a game at a friend's house, a cabin or a hotel table.
Corner marks you can read from the rack
Every dot, bam and crak carries its number in the corner. The winds show E, S, W and N, and part of the flowers are marked SPR, SUM, AUT or WIN. Each joker spells JOKER in red above a green medallion, so it stands out in a hand.
Check your racks first
At 1.20 x 0.90 x 0.50 in (30 x 23 x 13 mm), these tiles are smaller than the full-size tiles most American racks are made for. Compare that height with the channel of your racks before you order.

Read at a glance
Nobody wants to squint at their own hand. Faces that carry across the table, so the game moves and nobody has to ask.
Weight you'll notice
The difference between a tile you tolerate and a tile you reach for is in your fingers. Heavier tiles shuffle better and stack straighter.
Match your mat
Tiles set the palette for everything else on the table. Pick the ones you want to build around.
Frequently asked questions
What comes with Bluebell?
keyboard_arrow_down
166 American mahjong tiles: 36 dots, 36 bams, 36 craks, 12 dragons, 16 winds, 16 flowers, 10 jokers and 4 blanks. You will need your own racks, dice and game card.
Will Bluebell tiles fit my racks?
keyboard_arrow_down
Each tile measures 1.20 x 0.90 x 0.50 in (30 x 23 x 13 mm), a travel size below full-size American tiles. Check the channel of your racks against that 1.20 in height before ordering.
Are Bluebell tiles easy to read?
keyboard_arrow_down
Yes. Every suit tile has its number in the corner, the winds carry E, S, W and N, and the jokers spell JOKER in red, which helps on small 30 mm tiles.
What color are the Bluebell tiles?
keyboard_arrow_down
Both the faces and the backs are white. The suits are marked in red, green and black, and each joker shows a red JOKER over a green medallion.
Play in Style with The Mahjong Section
A mahjong set is handled more than almost anything else in the house: every tile passes through four pairs of hands, several times a game.
That is what we select for. Tiles that read clearly from the far side of the table, edges that stay clean, and a case that still closes after a few seasons of being carried around.
A Set Worth Collecting
Sets differ in ways that only show at the table: the weight of a tile in the hand, how a crak reads from three seats away, whether the case survives the trip to a friend’s house.
When we have the figures, we publish them: tile count, tile size, weight and material. When we do not have one, we leave it out rather than guess.
