A deep crescent in waxed cowhide
Sorrel curves like a crescent moon and is cut in split cowhide leather with a waxed finish and contrast stitching. Its depth is what sets it apart: at 5.12 in (13 cm), a phone, a wallet and a compact umbrella sit next to each other instead of in a pile. It carries your own things to the table, not a mahjong set, racks or a mat.
Three zips and a strap that adjusts
One zip closes the top, another opens a front pocket for whatever you reach for most, and a hidden zip pocket inside keeps keys or cash apart. The strap adjusts from a 9.45 in to a 20.47 in drop (24 to 52 cm), so Sorrel can be carried in the hand, worn on the shoulder or slung crossbody.

Nobody knows what's inside
Cowhide, suede, straw. Carry it to your friend’s place, then carry it to lunch.
Big enough to matter
Sizes that take a compact tile set, which handbags almost never do. Capacity is on the page, so it's a choice and not a gamble.

Frequently asked questions
Will a mahjong set fit in Sorrel?
keyboard_arrow_down
No. Sorrel measures 12.20 x 5.51 x 5.12 in (31 x 14 x 13 cm). It carries your own things to game night, such as a phone, wallet and compact umbrella, while tiles, racks and mat travel in their own case.
How big is Sorrel and how does it close?
keyboard_arrow_down
It is 12.20 in long, 5.51 in high and 5.12 in deep (31 x 14 x 13 cm). A zip closes the top, a zip pocket sits on the front and a hidden zip pocket sits inside.
What is Sorrel made of, and how do I care for it?
keyboard_arrow_down
Split cowhide leather with a waxed finish, contrast stitching and zinc alloy hardware. Keep it away from water and alcohol, wipe it with a soft dry cloth and store it somewhere dry and ventilated.
Which colors and charm options can I choose?
keyboard_arrow_down
Six colors: biscuit tan, burgundy, black, cream white, malt yellow and dark chocolate. Two options add a knot-tied flower charm: malt yellow with a brown flower, or dark chocolate with a cream flower.
Play in Style with The Mahjong Section
A mahjong set is handled more than almost anything else in the house: every tile passes through four pairs of hands, several times a game.
That is what we select for. Tiles that read clearly from the far side of the table, edges that stay clean, and a case that still closes after a few seasons of being carried around.
A Set Worth Collecting
Sets differ in ways that only show at the table: the weight of a tile in the hand, how a crak reads from three seats away, whether the case survives the trip to a friend’s house.
When we have the figures, we publish them: tile count, tile size, weight and material. When we do not have one, we leave it out rather than guess.
